The mayor of Antigua, Matías Peña García, and the Deputy Chief Inspector of the Local Police, Domingo Fránquiz, have visited Caleta de Fuste where six new state-of-the-art surveillance cameras have been installed this week on José Franchy Roca street and roads near shopping centers with greater traffic.
These new cameras are in addition to those already installed in Caleta de Fuste and a total of approximately 60 video surveillance cameras installed in the Municipality with state-of-the-art systems, equipped with AI with immediate connection and warning of any possible incident in the area, providing greater image sharpness and a greater distance range.
"To guarantee safer and quieter spaces, and in response to neighborhood and business demand, says the mayor, we invest in the installation of a greater number of video surveillance cameras at strategic points throughout the Municipality, with a greater presence in Caleta de Fuste, Costa de Antigua, and Antigua, as well as those present in industrial areas, public buildings, sports facilities, cultural centres, close to school areas, and main municipal facilities such as treatment plants and EBARS. The progressive installation of video surveillance cameras is contemplated in the Municipal Budget, recently approved," says the mayor, Matías Peña.
"These more effective, clear video surveillance cameras even with warning of a possible incident, allow a faster, more efficient, and rigorous response from Local Police officers and other security forces and their presence prevents incidents, deters criminal behavior, and facilitates Police work in their actions and subsequent investigation of the facts," adds the Deputy Chief Inspector.
