Arrested after a violent assault on an elderly couple in Caleta de Fuste.
They are accused of robbing tourists with violence and using credit cards spending 3,087 euros and, in addition, committed these crimes driving a vehicle without ever having obtained administrative authorization to circulate, according to the Benemérita, which clarifies that this is the fourth time that a crime of the same nature is attributed to them.
The Events for which they are now arrested date back to February 22 and their victims were a couple of septuagenarian tourists from the United Kingdom, who were staying at a hotel complex in Caleta de Fuste.
As described by the Civil Guard, the couple was assaulted from behind by the three detainees when returning to the hotel by the three detainees and ended up on the ground in the struggle with the assailants, who managed to flee the place with their belongings; among them three credit cards that were used in subsequent days in numerous commercial establishments in Puerto del Rosario, reaching these purchases of 3,087 euros.
With these purchases they left in negative balance the bank account of the associated card, which was not canceled by the owners because due to their advanced age they were not aware of the procedure required for their cancellation and had written down the pin of the card used with it.
The Civil Guard focused its investigation on the analysis of the images of the establishments in which the cards were used, making purchases in well-known food establishments, sportswear and hygiene products stores, and others dedicated to the sale of car items, locating in all of them the alleged assailants.
This, together with the statements and other evidence obtained from recognition, on April 21, the Police operation culminated in the total clarification of the facts and the arrest of its three authors.
The agents also found that one of the detainees, who drove the tourism used to flee the assault and used it in other trips to make purchases, had never obtained a driving license of any kind, being that he also had a record of the same nature, since he had previously been attributed this same crime up to three times in the last 18 months.
With the arrest of the three perpetrators, a total of 3 crimes were clarified, closing the investigation with the availability of the two adult detainees to the corresponding Court of Instruction acting guard of Puerto del Rosario, who determined the direct entry into prison of one of them.
