Well another day of staying in doors yesterday as reported the Calima was as bad a Saturday, warm though and the wind in Caleta was not at strong as forecast or as strong as out at Triquivijate. We were out for lunch and drove along the coastal track to Salinas del Carmen and the sea was rough.
This morning at 8.10am is similar to yesterday a light breeze, 19C already, very hazy / cloudy, no condensation, Today's Caleta forecast - THERE IS STILL A Weather WARNING FOR WIND AND DUST STORM A hazy / cloudy day with a 40% chance of rain this afternoon, just what we don't need on all the sand dust deposits making cleaning harder. Shade temperature up to 24 from 10am to 3pm, and UV factor reaching 5 / 6 from 11am to 1pm. Wind from the SE until 2pm then moving E at 24 to 30 KMph all day with the odd gust up to 41 KMph

Only ever experienced a very mild sandstorm once - wild fires on other islands and extreme temperatures too?

Yes apparently so Jason, although the winds on Fuerteventura have been nowhere near as strong as is being reported.

A grey, hazy afternoon with a light wind.
A few spots of rain at my house at 5.15pm - just as I started cleaning up the orange dust that's been deposited by the calima.

I got blown over walking my dog yesterday - luckily I fell against a wall which stopped me going right down and breaking something - very sore knuckles, turned back and stayed in the rest of the day while the wind howled around us.
