Death with signs of violence in El Castillo

The Judicial Police investigates the death of a man with signs of violence in the Castle.

Members of the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of Las Palmas, moved today, Saturday, December 10, to the town of Castillo, in the municipality of Antigua, to investigate the causes of death of a man of about 45 years and of Spanish nationality, whose body with signs of violence was located in a house on Acebuche Street in the aforementioned tourist town.

 

The house at the moment continues to be cordoned off by members of the Civil Guard, while inside, agents of the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police have worked to clarify the circumstances of what happened in the aforementioned building.

According to different sources consulted, the discovery of the body occurred after calls from neighbors warning of loud noises at number 21 Acebuche Street, usually quiet. The same sources indicate to this media that the lifting of the body occurred around 3:00 p.m.
The Civil Guard keeps open the investigation to clarify this alleged homicide.

Criminalistics agents investigate the 21 of Acebuche Street in El Castillo.

Since 10 in the morning three agents of the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police, investigate the causes of the death of a man of about 45 years found this Saturday in an apartment on Acebuche Street in El Castillo.

According to different sources pointed out to Radio Sintonía, the location of the body occurred after the calls of several neighbors to the State Security Forces and Corps when they noticed loud noises in apartment number 21.
It is now up to the Judicial Police to collect all the information that is useful for the resolution of this alleged homicide. Photographs of the crime scene, collect samples such as fabrics, fibers, traces that may have been left by the person who committed the alleged crime and blood. In a scene, there may not only be blood from the victim, but also from the aggressor since he may have been injured while committing the crime.
The body with signs of violence was lifted by the Judicial Authority around 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, corresponding the proceedings to the Court of First Instance and Instruction Number 7 of Puerto del Rosario.

Awful stuff— don't get a lot of that sort of thing happening here! I hope more details emerge soon, particularly that the perpetrator has been apprehended. 

Bit concerning to read about something like that happening so close to home and wondering if the person responsible is passing you on the street.

The Guardia Civil have arrested a suspect for the murder of a 45-year-old Canarian man in El Castillo in Caleta de Fuste (Fuerteventura) on Saturday, he is a male of North African origin with a Moroccan passport who, in principle, had no direct relationship with the victim. The death happened after a fight in which, apart from giving him a severe beating, he used an object of some sort to hit the deceased.
Agents of the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police in charge of the investigation, concluded that he was the man was the victim of a violent death, after his corpse was found with multiple blows in apartment number 21 on Calle Acebuche in the tourist town.
It should be noted that it was the neighbours who alerted the Police as they heard cries for help coming from the victim’s apartment. Police say that the first few hours after the discovery were crucial for the identification of the alleged perpetrator of the man’s death.

Absolutely terrible story. That poor man. God help the neighbours, too— must be incredibly distressing to hear this and call for help and the person to die anyway. Just horrible all round.  

I assume this was a robbery gone wrong or something, if the victim didn't know his attacker? I hope they have the right person in custody and that nothing like this happens again for a very, very long time.

The guard court in Puerto del Rosario, the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 1, has ordered the entry into preventive detention communicated and without bail for the accused of the crime of the Castle, in the municipality of Antigua.
The detainee is accused of an alleged crime of homicide.
The prison order must be ratified tomorrow by the court that instructs the case, Rosario, the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 7 of Puerto del Rosario.
