Dual Residency - UK and Spain?
#11
Regarding residency and spending time outside Spain. below is part of an email from 'Age in Spain' I received this morning.

Please be aware that when applying for residency:

As a temporary resident (someone who has been resident in Spain for less than 5 years) if you leave the country for more than 6 months on a 12-month period, you lose your residency rights.

Whilst perusing Spanish immigration documents to find out if 10 months out of Spain was 300 or 310 days (365 if out for work) for renewal of Temp TIE. I discovered a few things possibly of interest:-
Post Brexit temp TIEs are not the same as other foreign nationals TIEs.
Also curiously that the stamping of passports even if a TIE is presented is due to a collaboration twixt border officials and the agencia tributaria to identify differences between residents and fiscal residents which apparently they could not do with the green cert.
Obviously it fits with the border policing of the 90 day rule and I assume lends itself to the " time out of Spain"
British passport holders appear to be in a separate ball court.

I did use google translate and there were over 200 pages in the "Boletin" so my detecting may all be wrong but it did make me think.
