No water - it's time CAAF fired someone!
Radio Sintonia:

Possible reductions in water supply capacity and intensity in Antigua, Puerto del Rosario and Tuineje.

The Water Supply Consortium to Fuerteventura (CAAF) is carrying out repair work from early today, Sunday, April 9, in the DN400 GRP pipe that connects the Puerto del Rosario EDAM with the deposits of La Herradura, after the breakdown detected in it by the services around 2 in the morning.

This incidence, according to the CAAF, could be causing reductions in capacity and intensity of supply, which are expected to mainly affect the municipalities of Antigua, Puerto del Rosario and Tuineje.

For this reason, the CAAF wanted to apologize to users who may be affected by the breakdown and hope that it will be solved as soon as possible.

After yet another day with no water, 3 or 4 days now with nothing at all, not even a dribble, I fired off a WhatsApp to the number that I use to report leaks. This is the response I got which although it doesn't resolve anything at least gave me some options. I thought the email address might be useful for others:

Good morning, we are working on improving the level of the reservoir that feeds the area, which is low right now. We apologize for any inconvenience we may cause you. I suggest that you come to our offices or contact the Distribution Technicians directly, who are the right people to answer all your questions and provide a solution to your situation. You can contact them through this email address: distribucion@caaf.es. From the Water Consortium Switchboard I cannot help you, I can only provide you with information.

Radio Sintonia:

Water supply recovered in La Oliva and Casillas del Ángel.

The Cabildo de Fuerteventura, through the Water Supply Consortium of Fuerteventura (CAAF), has transferred in a statement that it is working intensely to repair the latest breakdowns that have occurred in various areas of the island.

The level of the La Herradura deposit, which supplies 70% of the island, "is in optimal conditions," in the words of Gonzalo Báez, general manager of the CAAF. In that sense, the water supply to nearby areas, which include the Virgen de la Peña General Hospital, El Matorral Airport, the Risco Prieto industrial estate, and the neighborhoods of Los Pozos, La Mareta and Las Grandas, as well as the municipalities of Antigua, Puerto del Rosario and Tuineje has not been affected.

It is reported that the fault presented in La Oliva is almost completely recovered; while in Casillas del Ángel the water supply is already fully restored so the island "is recovering, little by little, from these damages", in the words of the first island councilor, Sergio Lloret.

However, the Betancuria area has mostly empty tanks due to a breakdown in the general network, so it is being repaired quickly by the insular water services and, for now, the area is being supplied with tanks. The CAAF is also working intensively to repair the fault in the general network of Playa Blanca. According to President Lloret, "it is expected that the supply will be restored as soon as possible in both places."

On the other hand, the supply in the southern zone is optimal, especially in the towns of Cardón and Tesejerague, where there is already a good level of water due to the new pipe installed yesterday in the Marcos Sánchez area, to feed directly with the impulsion to the area of Los Piñeros.
