What do we gain from registering,   particularly after 31 December 2020 ?  Like protection of some rights??

What paperwork is required to register (eg  bank statements, health insurance, address etc)?

We would appreciate  some heads up on this!

Thank you in advance

Would be interested in pros and cons of the TIE card - if relatively straightforward to apply and no real downsides then seems worth considering.
Do they want evidence of residency or would owning a property be enough? Once obtained could you ensure you breach residency rules therefore only paying tax on Spanish income i.e. rental income?

Thanks everyone for the advice on the new TIE.

It seems more complicated by the minute!

We will ask Miguel  about this in more detail when we are back later in the year.

Tom - we don't 'do'  Facebook, but thanks for the advice about Miguel doing some kind of live transmission.

Best wishes to you all

I watched the webinar and was impressed, so much so that we are now using Miguel's services to (hopefully) get our digital certificates and then TIEs.
Is there anyone on here with private health insurance suitable who has got the new TIE? I'm looking at options for this at the moment.

I just watched the webinar after some busy work weeks. It is nicely laid out.

I do have private insurance with DKV, as does my wife.
I took it out when I applied for my green nie card last year.
She took out a policy recently to apply for a TIE as a foreign national with permanent residency in another EU state.

I will be contacting Miguel to handle my TIE stuffs as my green nie has my old address from another island and I need to get it updated to here.... Also Im tired of carrying my passport around everywhere.

Does anyone know for definite if the TIE is a photo card?
Just because you have to take in photos with your application doesn't mean anything. We had to provide photos when we registered years ago, they just held them on file apparently.
