The Civil Guard in Fuerteventura clarified six crimes against property that occurred between the end of March and May 2025, for stealing Money, electronic devices, jewellery and various belongings from inside several apartments in a hotel complex in the town of Costa Calma.
The Civil Guard became aware of the facts after several complaints filed in March by affected tourists at the Morro Jable Main Post.
According to the victims, the thieves took advantage of the afternoon and evening slot, when the guests were dining at the hotel buffet, to enter the apartments. Once inside, they stole cash, electronic devices such as tablets and laptops, watches and other personal belongings.
Among the six criminal acts committed, the total amount of cash stolen amounts to 2,220 euros, in electronic devices for a total value of 630 euros and personal belongings for a total value of approximately 1,136 euros.
The Investigation Area of the Main Post of Morro Jable carried out the necessary Police investigations and made several steps to clarify what happened. The crimes were committed in the same area and following the same modus operandi.
Immediately the Civil Guard carried out the corresponding Police investigations in which the security cameras of the hotel complex were fundamental, all this in conjunction with the analysis of the information collected and the surveillance services in those time slots, led to the identification and subsequent arrest of the alleged perpetrator of the six criminal acts.
The Civil Guard continues with the investigation in order to recover the stolen effects, which is why new arrests for these actions are not ruled out.
The detainee, together with the proceedings instructed for this purpose, was at the disposal of the Court in charge of the Guard of Puerto del Rosario.
