Hi Grampiangranny,
Is your post from a personal family member of yours ?? I ask because I have seen this exact same piece posted on Facebook sites and it was debunked as being fake news & factually incorrect (as in virus survival times on surfaces etc). Just checking that we are giving out correct info on here 😁😁

Clearly stated at the beginning of my posting is the source.
I am very happy to withdraw that information should it offend.

Hi Gg,
Not saying it offends just that I had seen that on social media, posted in the same way (maybe that was you 🤣😂) & it didn’t agree with the info from scientists etc regarding transmission life on surfaces etc. Wasn’t in any way having a go, just want to keep things accurate 😁😁

That's good, because this is a discussion thread anyway.
Would you be free to share the alternative scientific information that you have to hand with others here? It would be very useful.

Not “to hand” just what has been on news reports etc from scientists etc

Hi just joined the forum.
I just read the advice about holding your breath, drinking hot liquids, etc. These are all myths. (Drinking fluids is always good, but not effective with the virus.) For you with access to the BBC website, they have a series of articles which tackle all of these and more. Please have a look. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/51979410/c...-to-ignore I'm sorry but I believe the BBC above the someone who knows someone who says........ keep safe

Just to be clear, I have no presence on Facebook for that very reason!

I wonder if many of these rumours, myths, fake news etc have a certain element of truth about them just not enough certainty to be endorsed by the experts. Stay safe, stay positive, I’ve stopped reading the number of positive cases and only follow the recovery numbers now. Just my way of coping with the magnitude of it all.
