Understand people's feelings, but mandatory vaccination is a foot on the slippery slope. Do you ban Smoking next? Alcohol? Mandatory Flu jabs? 
Where do we draw the line.

The difference between COVID and your others in my humble opinion are, while all your examples all have health issues and effect other people lives with the exception of the flue jab are life choices, and do not impact on the entire population as does COVID, I am rarely in favour of imposing restrictions on peoples lives, but when life saving procedures are cancelled or delayed because the worlds health system is struggling, and there is something that can be done about it, it is a no brainer.

           However I do not wish to get into a discussion on the subject it was a s ever a personal opinion.

The ongoing increasing numbers seems unusual for Fuerte - are these the highest numbers through the pandemic so far? Makes you wonder why? Any chance it's the new Omicron variant? Not sure how much genetic sequencing is done in Fuerte with regards to variants. Any insights?

That would be my guess, yes. It is apparently everywhere already (they only ever find them long after they are widespread, it seems!) and it wildly contagious. The hospitalisation numbers are worrying, but nowhere near where they would be with no vaccination. Unfortunately we are just going to see a lot of cases and hospitalisations until the pandemic dies down, especially when there is a sizeable number of folks who won't get the jab and/or won't take precautions.

An article I read in the last few days said that the first case/s of Omicron had been identified in The Canaries, I think it was Tenerife or GC and a person who had arrived from South Africa.

Two weeks later, and the situation of high infection rates has continued. We're looking at around 100 new cases each day recently, despite being at alert level 3 for a while. This is so different from earlier in the pandemic here on Fuerte that you can almost certainly conclude that many of these cases are omicron. Hopefully the number of daily recoveries will soon be greater than the new daily infections...

I am interested with your opinions here. Please see the article below. The paragraph where it says makes for a ‘healthier environment ‘. To me, its not true. Whether you have been vaccinated or not you can still carry and pass on the virus. This could be getting a little ugly regarding segregation and could lead to vigilante groups. Maybe i am seeing more into this but human nature for some people this will open a door.

I get the Cumbria Business News each morning and this morning there was an article headlined -

Cumbria New Item
