SUC medicalized helicopter transports a minor rescued from the sea in Fuerteventura.
A medicalized helicopter of the SUC has transferred a minor rescued from the sea in Fuerteventura.
This afternoon, at 13:58 p.m., the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert in which it was communicated that they had taken a minor from the sea who showed signs of drowning. It happened in Playa del Castillo, in El Cotillo, municipality of La Oliva.
The emergency personnel found that the minor, 15 years old, was in cardiorespiratory arrest with signs of drowning so they practiced basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers that managed to reverse the stop. Upon arrival, the personnel of the SUC medicalized helicopter was in charge of stabilizing him and preparing his urgent evacuation to the Maternal and Child University Hospital of Gran Canaria, where he was admitted in serious condition.
