Saw this sign today indicating the Dunes road will be closed for 6 hours tomorrow 23/10
There were two signs one at the roundabout where you turn inland to get to the motorway and the second was at the Parque Holandes roundabout, so not sure which section of the coast road will be closed.
On Sunday 3rd November at 6pm, at the usual Sunday Service at St. James, Corralejo, it will include the opportunity to light a candle for those who have gone before us in faith. They will be remembered by name, those family and friends who have died this year, those whose funerals were held on the island and elsewhere. It is also an opportunity to remember loved ones who are still missed.
The Service is held at the church of Nuestra Senora del Carmen, Calle Galicia, 13, 35660 Corralejo.
Starts at 6pm, lasts about an hour and is followed by refreshments. All are welcome.
Hi. I am arriving in Corralejo 1800 hours Saturday 21st December to spend xmas /new year. As someone who lived on the island before cannot wait!!!
Can someone advise me on the following:
Is there a supermarket open between 1800-2000 hours on the Saturday - and Sunday?
Car Hire- can anyone recommend a car hire for a few days in Corralejo?
Suggestions for a nice place to eat Xmas dinner/new years dinner would also be appreciated.
Many Many Thanks.

It appears that, from next summer, the Tres Islas is offering an all-inclusive option.
TUI, who I believe, now own the hotel are charging £22.32 pppn when booking a holiday. They are offering "Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. Selected local-brand alcohol, soft drinks, tea and coffee. Snacks at set times"
If you book direct with the hotel, you also have the AI option (I can not find details of the website), but the cost is around £20 pppn (prices vary depending on currency fluctuations at the time you look/book)
So TUI are charging 10% for booking with them!!
I shall be asking for more details when I am in the the hotel at the end of this month, and will pass on anything I find out.
I also note that the price for 2 weeks at the start of June has dropped by £80 (again due the currency flucuations) so it's will be worth changing my booking to AI and getting the £80 back
p.s. every time I write "currency fluctuations" I think about the Chinese gentleman who when enquiring why the exchange rate he was being offered today was worse than yesterday, was told it was due to curency fluctuations. To which his response was "And fluck you Europeans too!!".
Admin : Feel free to edit out the last para if you need to.
p.p.s Can we have a Jokes section?. The other forum seems to have completely lost its sense of humour. No jokes posted simce 20 April

Hi, has anyone bought furniture from JYSK in Rosario? What is the delivery timescales like once order is placed? I am thinking of ordering furniture on line for when I am next over . Do they have a warehouse in Canaries or is it all shipped from mainland Spain.
A trip through Fuerteventura with photographer Rafael Morales.
The Department of Culture of the City of Puerto del Rosario, directed by Aurelia Vera, reports the photography exhibition of the author Rafael Morales under the title "Island of Fuerteventura". This exhibition will open today Tuesday, October 15, at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Culture House, C / Ramiro de Maeztu 2.
The Mayor of Puerto del Rosario, Juan Jiménez, and the head of Culture in the City of Buenos Aires, Aurelia Vera, will meet at this opening ceremony where they will have the opportunity to maintain closer contact with the author and the rest of the attendees .
Rafael J. Morales Cedrés, Gran Tarajal 1961, has known and enjoyed all the stages of photography, from the initial B / N, to the analog era, to the current digital one. His preferences are artistic, creative and informative photographs. It presents a collection in last generation format, photo printing in 5mm methacrylate, showing the luminosity of its landscapes, the nuances and contrasts of this peculiar land. Rafael Morales has been showing his work publicly for several years in exhibitions held in different cultural centers and exhibition halls on the island of Fuerteventura.
The exhibition will be open to the public between October 16 and 31 at the following times: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday from 09:00 to 19: 00h.
I will be once again carrying out the RBL poppy appeal in Fuerteventura.
Work wise I am extremely busy so once again I am asking for a volunteer in the Caleta area who could assist me in the distribution of collection boxes. I will prepare all the boxes/tins etc and would drop them to you...I simply need assistance in dropping the boxes at various shops & bars who participate in the collection. I live in Corralejo and that makes things a little harder as some bars do not open until evening and some shops etc shut in the evening so for me it generally means 2 trips down and then a further 2 trips to collect the boxes after the 11th.
I have been doing this now for several years but simply am struggling to find the time now and unfortunately if I cannot get help then this will most likely be the final year that I can do it...I do not want to cease collecting as this charity is dear to me. I have assistance in distributing the boxes in Corralejo it is simply Caleta which takes up most of my time.
