The three new cases are two Civil Guards, recently transferred to Fuerteventura and a person who was undergoing tests for a surgical operation.

Maybe I am naive, but I would have thought the guards should have been tested before they left wherever they came from?

I think you can have the virus but still test negative for a while before the infection takes hold? They may have been tested but it just wasn't showing up yet.

Makes sense cos all the migrants were tested on arrival but extra cases came to light after a few days.

41 active cases still. 4 at home, and 37 in the harbour building in Puerto del Rosario where the migrants are in quarantine.

It's 3 weeks + since the first wave of migrant positives. If none of these are now clear, surely it is proof positive that 2 weeks quarantine is insufficient in normal circumstances.

I believe that the incubation period is given as “up to” 14 days if no symptoms but longer isolation if symptoms persist. If the current batch of positives have not been in solitary isolation then one could assume that the infection is travelling among them, even if no symptoms unless they are being tested virtually daily ☹️

One of the people has recovered at home, so there are now 40 active cases.

At home? Which person is this; I thought the current infected people were illegal immigrants & Guardia/Policia. Are there other new cases or am I out of date?

It was: 37 refugees, plus four patients at home (at least two of them Guardia).

Since yesterday: 37 refugees and three patients at home.

I would also expect most of the isolated refugees to be already Covid-free but Cabildo is playing it safe - the best approach, IMO.

Thanks Sam, I was wondering what happens to the refugees where they have recovered???

There is also an article in Diario re the contact tracing and testing related to this outbreak if someone can cau and pasta, my phone not playing ball.
