The Ministry of Health for the Canary Islands has announced that extra restrictive measures marked by a red traffic light are activated from today (Saturday) in three more Islands, as a precaution to contain the contagion curve throughout the Archipelago.
They are being applied as follows:
Tenerife: for at least 15 days.
La Gomera: for at least 15 days.
Fuerteventura: for 7 days.
Gran Canaria: extended for another 15 days.
Lanzarote: extra restrictions lifted today.
La Palma: green light no extra restrictions.
El Hierro: green light no extra restricti
The extra restrictions that apply as of now in those Islands, are as follows:
- Events or social gatherings are not permitted with more than 10 people in one place, whether in public or private.
- Bars, restaurants, hotel bars, terraces, beach bars, must close by midnight (00.00h) at the latest, with no new clients being admitted after 11.00pm.
- Non-occupational day centres will be closed to users.
They are being applied island-wide due to municipalities on those islands that have an incidence rate over 100, so even though the whole island is lower, its a precaution for containment to prevent it spreading.
These municipalities are:
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria with 126.08;
Santa Cruz de Tenerife with 120.83;
San Sebastián de La Gomera with 120.97;
In Fuerteventura, Puerto de Rosario has an incidence rate of 95.7 this week, but last week it was 179.13, so this is why the red traffic light is activated for only one week on this island.
