This may seem a strange question - What is the difference between the quality of the fuel that the different petrol stations supply.
Repsol are currently charging 1.115€ for premium diesel and DISA are charging 1.187€
Back in the UK I only use premium brand fuel, Shell or BP, as against Supermarket Fuel, whilst the price may be higher the additives do make a difference to and more than compensate in fuel economy, engine performance and protection. The nerd I am I keep stats and can prove I get 10%+ better economy from Premium Brand Fuel plus a very reliable car mechanic I use told me he would not service my vehicles if I used supermarket fuel.
Look forward to your replies

Is social media killing naturism?

All of us who visit naturist beaches can't help noticing that the average age of naturists is increasing. The young naturists are few and far between. Is this the result of the explosion of social media in the last few years, with associated photos (often PhotoShopped) of beautiful bodies?
There's a theory that young people have become so obsessed by social media that they're unwilling to strip off on the beach, as they think their bodies are less than attractive. How stupid is this? In most cases, they are in far better shape than the old wrinklies (and I include myself in that category!).
My wife & I usually go to Vera Playa in summer, and the beach is very family-friendly so we see lots of Spanish families there (sometimes 3 generations). The younger children are happy to be naked, but many of the older children stay dressed and look at their smartphones. It's worrying.
What do you think?

SS American Star - ever heard of it?

I'd never heard of this. On 18 January 1994, the American Star (originally the S.S. America) ran aground off the west coast of Fuerteventura.
She was being towed to Thailand to become a five-star floating hotel by the Ukrainian tug Neftegaz-67, but during the hundred-day tow a huge and violent storm forced the tow lines to snap and all attempts to save the vessel failed, which resulted in the former luxury liner being left adrift in the harsh Atlantic Ocean for a few days until she ran aground.
Within 48 hours she was broken in two by huge and fierce waves and was eventually abandoned having being declared a total loss by her owners, she remained stranded on a sandbank at Playa de Garcey (about 5km south of Ajuy) until many years later when she finally collapsed and broken up into the sea.
The remarkable footage that you can see in the YouTube link below was taken by TVE Canarias as part of a news coverage of the incident and was later used in the French documentary "Vie et Mort de l'America", this is the only known footage of the ship shortly after she ran aground and broke in two.

How do you normally spend New Year's Eve if you are in Fuerteventura? We stayed in Caleta last 2 years but thinking about going somewhere else this year. Any suggestions? Is it worth going to Rosario?

Best place for naturists to stay?

With the closure of Gran Hotel Natura, I wonder where's a good place for naturists to stay. GHN was great because you could be naked all day, and walk directly out on to the beach.
The naturist area at Magic Life isn't great. The Monte Marina apartments don't appeal much - primarily because of the steps down to the beach (which isn't the nicest). There's Infiniti (never tried it) but it's in the middle of a built-up area. We've stayed at VIK in Costa Calma, which has lovely private enclosed courtyards with sunbeds, bit it's not like being on the beach.
So where's best now for naturists?

Hi everyone. Anyone able to give an update on the sand situation at Mal Nombre and El Salmo? We haven't been since late 2016 and are aware that the sands often move around exposing large rocky areas from time to time. Wondering if the recent storms altered anything along this lovely stretch of coast? Cheers
