  Fuel Discount Jan 2025
Posted by: windermeregolfer - 11-01-2025, 07:58 AM - Forum: Cars, cabs & roads - No Replies

Did I read somewhere that there was going to be a discount of 0.14€ a litre from January and has it been implemented?

  Electricity price increase
Posted by: Johnrgby - 10-01-2025, 08:28 AM - Forum: General Discussions - Replies (4)

I have received the following email from my Electricity provider, what appears odd about it to me is despite it being a substantial increase, I have heard nothing about it previously, and I would have thought it would have been mentioned on social media before now, has anyone else received a similar communication?
"We would like to inform you about some important changes implemented by the government that will increase your electricity bill in 2025.

Please see below the government measures:

VAT increase: VAT on electricity to rise from 10% to 21% (More information here)
System charges: The government has proposed to increase bill charges by 33%. (More information here)
Energy Tolls: For some periods they have decreased but for others they have increased (more information here).

It is important to underline that Evergreen Eléctrica has no influence on these costs, which correspond only to the new charges imposed by the government"

Ferries and rental cars - a few questions
Posted by: Bill - 06-01-2025, 04:39 PM - Forum: General Discussions - Replies (2)

Hi all,

We are hoping to fly to Tenerife in March but visit La Gomera and El Hierro. The easiest way to get around (and the cheapest as residents) is to hire a rental car for the 5-6 days.

3 questions:

1. Do CICAR/others allow you to take the car to different islands (I suspect yes?)
2. Are all ferry companies happy to take hire cars? (I suspect yes, again)
3. How can you book a ferry in advance if you don't have the registration/exact make of hire car in advance?

Thanks folks.
Bill

  Burger King - Los Rotundos
Posted by: Can the Man - 30-12-2024, 11:10 PM - Forum: Bars & Restaurants - Replies (1)

Fast food by definition generally means food served hot, fresh, and fast.
Not so today, we decided for a quick Berger and chips before we left Los Rotundos, we ordered at 14:53, we had food served at 15:29 - COLD BURGER, also dried out. I went to challenge and by the time I got speaking with so called manager the chips were cold. I insisted I wanted a refund and it must have taken over 20 mins to have this processed.
I don’t know what’s happening in this country but pure common courtesy, and service do not exist in places like this.
How people can actually serve dried up shrivelled cold food is beyond me. I thought there were time checks and temperature checks on all fast foods.

  Customer Service - A Question?
Posted by: Can the Man - 30-12-2024, 11:02 PM - Forum: Bars & Restaurants - Replies (4)

Here’s a question to ponder, as I find the levels of customer service decline like I don’t know what.
We a group of 5, were in a top class restaurant in Caleta de Fuste the other evening. The waitress who also happens to be the owner while serving us drinks managed to spill several bottles of water from the tray down on top of me. Now she was so sorry and apologised, I was like a drowned rat and had to change my clothes.
The drinks were replaced, the meal as served and later the bill called for.
What would you expect to happen ?

  Costa Calma beaches
Posted by: shyspider - 21-12-2024, 11:09 AM - Forum: Naturists - Replies (3)

Hi all.

new here, so I thought I would ask a question.
I will be in Costa Calma in April, and traveling alone. I would like to know where the best beach is in the area to sunbathe nude.
I will not have a car but do enjoy walking.
Also, is there a bus to the south of the island, and how much is it?
Thanks.
