  Booked for 2025
Posted by: Magoo - 27-11-2024, 01:54 PM - Forum: Naturists - Replies (12)

Just booked the H10 Esmerelda for next year. We had a couple of visits to the area in October and liked the beach. Looking at trip advisor, this caught my eye causing some amusement. I could just imagine her copy of the Sun being ripped up in anger

Pool and Surroundings
The pool was freezing cold, which was disappointing as it limited our enjoyment. What was truly shocking, though, was the behavior around the pool area—people were openly getting changed, which we found absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. It’s baffling how this is allowed in a hotel claiming to be 4-star.

She is lucky that they were actually changing into something

  Purchase new battery?
Posted by: Ducks - 24-11-2024, 12:48 PM - Forum: Cars, cabs & roads - Replies (10)

Our car battery seems to have given up the ghost. It had been weak for some time, but as of this morning it was a complete non-starter, literally. Fortunately we were just considering a Sunday spin, but the worry of this happening at the side of the road versus at home with no an appointment pending makes me think I'd like to just get it replaced.

Anyone know anywhere in the Caleta/Mattoral/Antigua area likely to have one in stock over the next few days that we can purchase and install ourselves, or is it something likely to need to be ordered in? Or anyone have any recommendations on where to go for this?

I'm looking for information on any hotels in Corralejo where you can take out a temporary membership to use the swimming pool, gym etc. facilities. I'll be looking at one month membership. Any info will be much appreciated.

  Donkey manure for gardening
Posted by: Maggie76 - 19-11-2024, 07:46 PM - Forum: General Discussions - Replies (1)

I hope this is the right forum for this, I couldn't see a gardening one!
Our friend on the island has rescued donkeys (and cats and dogs!) The donkeys eat a lot and she is supplementing all this on her pension. To raise extra funds she is selling bagged up manure at 4e a bag. Great for the garden! Please contact her if you need a bag Smile
Frankie at +34 636986893

Thank you Smile

  A cautionary tale.
Posted by: Johnrgby - 31-10-2024, 01:06 PM - Forum: Cars, cabs & roads - Replies (1)

Some weeks ago a female friend of ours broke the rear offside spring on her car, she took it to her normal repair garage, near Caleta which is also mine, and was given a quote of 405.25euros for the spring, which she paid then and there and was told it would take 3/4 weeks to arrive and they would contact her, and arrange to fit it, subsequently, she received a text message telling in her that Opal for safety reasons would only supply springs in pairs, and the new cost would be 711,50euros and they could be fitted on the 29th of October, so being a tad sceptical I arranged to take the car to the garage, and on arrival asked how they could quote an exact price for a single spring if they were only supplied in pairs? his immediate response was "We made an error the original quote was for the two springs, and so it turned out, another 60+ euros for fitting and job done, is it me or was there an attempt to take advantage of a female here? I will not name the garage, but if anyone needs to know PM me.
