Hi John,
It does seem high but the info from the surveys seem legit & we all know that pretty much all countries have been under reporting. Paart of this was info from undertakers as well. Does make you think though 🤔🤔

High rate of positives for the under 30s age group in several countries. I think that Governments need to use social media effectively to get the message across to this age group about how they need to behave. It is the main way to influence them.

Hi Jason, I will answer you only briefly here, as your question should be posted on another thread (eg Residency), but I'm sure Sam will move it soon.
If you want to be in fuerteventura for more than 90 days in any 12 month period, you need to apply for what is incorrectly called Residency. It used to be a certificate that you were a citizen of an EU country, but that recently changed to TIE with Brexit nearby.
You will find lots of information if you go to the topic paperwork.
The Empadron is when you register with the local council and you get on the electoral register (but you can only vote in local elections now, not European or National). It is often needed for many transactions and it can also qualify for the discounted travel to mainland Spain etc.
Again, search other topics and you will find information. Be aware that since my postings on both topics, you now need to do everything by prior appointment.
Tom.

Not to split hairs Tom but it is 90 days in 180 not in a 12 month period 😁

What a lot of new cases cropping up every day now, very sad news. We have done so well until just recently.
People on the Island are still not taking this seriously. Who & WHY NOT?
The rest of us are still continuing to do our very best whilst others it seems flaunt the rules mixing in huge numbers together.
What will make them realise?
Any suggestions. Is is travelling people or local residents?
Disappointing

Sorry for the downer. Never give up

Disappointing for sure. I guess with 1000 active cases just a short ferry ride away in Gran Canaria, and Madrid raging, it is not surprising.
As well as imported cases, like most places, family get togethers also play a big part.
Maybe inter region travel restrictions may be the next step??

Disappointing, but it's happening everywhere. People are just so fed up that they're willing to risk themselves and others— even most of the people I know who were taking it seriously a few months ago are now at the "to hell with it, let's get it and get it over with" stage. I think it's the combination of big numbers of positive cases with low numbers of hospitalisation/dying, people are thinking "oh, it's not as bad as we thought" or "it's mutated to become milder". The various tourist boards advertising staycations isn't helping, either. People spending
Money to holiday and finding many facilities cut back are not going to be in the mindset to be careful and cautious, they're going to be ticked off and looking to get the value of their trip one way or another— drinking, meeting people, doing things, etc.
Meanwhile, I haven't done anything since March besides grocery and essential travel. Frustrating to be restricting yourself for six months only to have it all undone by lax rules, lax enforcement of rules, and people being selfish twits.
